Details: This is a fantastic pre-amp!
I totally agree with Charley\'s review. I bought this a few months ago (unfortunately not from Ornec- I found this website only very recently) and thought I\'d let any prospective buyers know how excellent it is. It\'s totally transparant, creates a huge, deep and wide soundstage, with amazing clarity and seperation right across the frequency range. Excellent build quality too. At the price I would say it\'s just unbeatable - and I\'ve used UK and USA manufactured pre-amps costing up to 2000.00 and this is way, way better (yes, it really is). A real wake-up call to all those high-end manufacturers charging thousands of pounds for their pre-amps. A true audiophile bargain! |

Details: Meixing MingDa MC-2A3 Valve tube Pre Amp
I\'ve had this preamp for about four weeks after Ornec took eight weeks to get it to me, but the wait was worth it. Paired with Meixing MingDa 300-845 AB monoblocks, the preamp does exactly what any preamp should do -- it stays out of the way of the source and the amps and lets them produce wonderful, glorious, transparent and detailed music. The sound just compels you to sit down, let your jaw drop and revel in the hugely wide soundstage peopled with all your musical friends who you feel like you\'re meeting for the first time. You may have heard them before, but now you meet them. Vocals and midrange are to die for and the highs are only limited by your transducers. Buy it and rediscover your CD collection. A wonderful product. |

You may appreciate its wonderful qualities after some hours of burn-in of the valves. The result is really astonishing. Open and very detailed sound with a never heard dynamism. The only criticism is the excessive microphonism of 2A3 valves (despite the power filter G&W TW-03). |
