These amps are one of the bargains of the hi fi world. They are huge brutes of things, but they transmit a precision and delicacy which belies their very butch appearance. I\'ve listened to them for three months now with every conceivable type of music (bar that when common sense prevails over the common taste) and the richness of the experience rewards me every day. I dare say they don\'t measure to beat the band, but the warmth and liquidity of the midrange conveys exactly what the valve experience is meant to be all about. Paired with the Meixing MingDa 2A3 preamp and through Osborn, Ambience and Quad loudspeakers, these amps produce music -- that\'s all -- just music. |
