Well, what can I say. The unit looks like it cost 3 or 4 times the real price. The performance with a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-831 is excellent with a clear and powerfull sound. The soundstage is around the head of the listener not in the head, with a agile and articulated bass, transparent midrange and extended and brilliant highs. A very good product headphone preamp and at a amazing price. |

Details: G&W TW-J1 Headphone Amplifier with Sennheiser HD-5
I received the headphone amp today and expected it to need a week of burn-in. It may still need that week, but my first impressions are very positive.
Very solid unit with good quality components - excellent for the price.
The amplifier is exceptionally quiet with a very big headstage: quieter than any audio component I have listened to!
High frequencies are a bit strident, but I assume that will mellow out over the next 100 hours of use. Superb tight bass and involving midrange.
Sounds much more expensive than it is, but can certainly be bettered - I\'ll review it again in a month, possibly with Sennheiser HD650 headphones.
I would be very interested to know how the Bada head amp compares.

Ein kleines aber feines Ding. Sehr präziser mit sehr guter Transparenz und Räumlichkeit klingender Kopfhörerverstärker. Es ist natürlich notwendig das man sehr gute Quellen und auch Kabel verwendet sonst kommt die Qualität auch nicht zum Vorschein wie bei allen Geräten. Für das Geld eine „Super“ Empfehlung ich vergesse immer wieder das ich nur Kopfhörer auf habe. !!!!Very Nice !!!!! |

Details: TW-J1 with senn 650 cans
Been useing the amp for about 2 months now and find it to be a
match-up with the Sennheiser 650 .I use it with an older Sony
DVP-NS700P dvd/cd player which has no phone imput,the is where the G&w TW-J1 comes in,\\i just run the audio outs to the amp.
This being my first and only amp. of this type I have nothing to compare it to,although I have no complaints except for the blue
power-on light is way to bright where at times I actually have to cover it up.You might also consider one with 2 imputs,other
